Five paints, no photos
How a limit became the studio’s look, and why we kept it.
When we started we couldn’t afford photoshoots, so Sia drew everything. Five colours, because five colours print cheaply and still look loud on a market wall.
Seven years later we could afford photos. We still don’t use them. The limit forces every idea to be clear enough to draw, and it makes our work recognisable from across the road.
